IT'S TIME ... TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH

Committed to Excellence

Welcome, I am excited you took the time to investigate my life’s passion...helping mature adults live with robust physical and mental health as we age. I don’t know about you but I want to live better and longer. I want my lifespan to be long but I also want my healthspan to be just as long. Taking control of your health is actually about embracing a lifestyle that understands your body’s ability to heal and strengthen for as long as we live. We can do more than we think we can. Both physically and mentally no matter our age.I am a fitness instructor and I am over 80 years old. If that sounds a little strange, it actually is. I am holder of the Guinness Book of World records as the oldest active fitness instructor with multiple fitness certifications. My main focus is  helping individuals age 60 and over gain muscle and strength, increase overall fitness levels, and recover from injuries and/or surgery.  In addition to helping regain strength, mobility, balance etc. I work in conjunction with physical therapists, doctors and others to help clients get back to “normal” after a life altering event. Why not let me help you redefine or refocus your goals for physical health as you enter the next phase of life.  You may want to win the Pickle ball tournament at your club, run a 5k or be able to get up and down from the floor without help, walk up and down stairs or recover from a stroke and walk without assistance. It is possible! No matter your lifestyle currently, fitnesss should be a part of your daily activites and part of your total lifestyle.

MORE ABOUT TIM MINNICK

WHAT TO EXPECT:  I will expect to have an extended conversation about your current health and fitness levels and medical history. I will want to see copies of the notes from your physical therapist and discuss with them what course of action he or she wants us to take that will complement their treatment. I will come to your home and  do an assessment of your physical situation in addition to asking questions about your goals and expectations.  Depending on our discussion, I will probably suggest working together twice a week at a minimum. It takes at least 3 months in most cases to begin to see meaningful results.  There is no charge for the initial meeting and assessment.ABOUT MEI am a lifelong sports "nut" both personally and helping my children and grandchildren play their sports. I played college baseball and probably would have turned to golf sooner if I knew what I know now. My oldest son is a PGA golf professional, my son in law was avery successful college baseball player and I have two grandsons that played college baseball. So we are a sports family. I love stories of older adults that still compete at a sport. It is amazing what we can do even at advanced ages.I hold many fitness certifications: Certified personal trainer, Functional Aging Specialist, Corrective exercise specialist among others. I also have a certification in Nutrition. I like to think that I have been given extra years to help others make positive lifestyle changes through fitness, health coaching and sound nutrition advice. I spent over 30 years managing my financial services business but I knew I did not want to continue that direction as I got older. I became a personal trainer at 73 and have never regretted the decision. It was like I was made for this and especially for this age demographic... that I am a part of!If this sounds like something you want to explore, please contact me and let's spend some time talking about your goals and expectations. Remember, your health and fitness are the baseline of your life and as such goes a longway in determining how you live the later years of life. Let's live life to the maximum as much as possible.

SPECIAL NEEDS EXPERIENCE

Almost every person I train over age 60 has some limitations. I love the challenge to train those individuals because they fully realize how much they need to improve. I have experience with clients who have Parkinson's disease, strokes open heart surgery including heart transplant, cancer and injury from accidents. You may have lost some amount of muscle mass and are just weak and unable to be fully functional as you age. Maybe that muscle loss has caused you to be challenged with poor balance and you run he risk of or have had a serious fall.  Maybe you can't climb the stairs in your home of elsewhere. Maybe you can't get out of a chair without help or off the toilet without help. If you are experiencing any of these issues, you can get better. You can have a more  fulling life. Get help now
